Mr. Joseph Parker, age 88, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. He was born in Robeson County on June 15, 1926 to the late Lewis and Mable Parker. He was a lifetime member of Antioch Baptist Church and was formerly employed as a bridge department supervisor with North Carolina Department of Transportation. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Tyner Parker. He is survived by one son, Joseph M. Parker and wife, Shirley, of Lumberton, two daughters, Jane Myers and husband, Rick, of Clinton and Susan Phelps and husband, Greg, of Lumberton, one brother, Sonny Parker of Lumberton, one sister, Dolly Kinlaw also of Lumberton, a special friend, Dorothy Watts of Lumberton, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. A time of visitation will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2014, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014, at 3:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Belch Cemetery of Lumberton.
