Joseph Lee \\"Joe\\" Hendren, age 79, of Lumberton, NC died on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Robeson County, NC on June 15, 1931 to Arthur Lee and Cora Britt Hendren, Sr. He previously worked as a forman at the Street Department for the City of Lumberton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lee Hendren and Cora Britt Hendren; five brothers, Earl Hendren, JohnWalton Hendren, Arthur Lee Hendren, Jr., Robert Hendren and Howard Hendren; and two sisters, Mae Herring and Iris Allen.

Mr. Hendren is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Howell Hendren of the home; two daughters, Kathy Suggs and husband, James of Lumberton, NC and Joy Hall and husband, Donnie of Sanford, NC; two sisters, Cathleen Scarboro and Frances Edwards both of Lumberton, NC; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Meadowbrook Cemetery with Rev. Gerald Wilson officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
