Mr. Joseph Brooks, age 82, of 4842 Pleasant Hope Road, Fairmont died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at his risdence. He was born October 3, 1927 in Robeson County.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Reedy Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Hilton Woodell and Rev. Chester Chavis officiating. Burial will be in Reedy Branch Church Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Brooks and a son, Joseph Mickey Brooks.

Mr. Brooks is survived by a daughter, Dr. Eugenia Brooks Howie of Fairmont, NC; five grandchildren, Brooke Grooms, Brent Brooks, Brette Brooks, Justin Sisco, Michelle Messer; and five great-grandchildren, Zeke Grooms, Makenzie Grooms, Paxton Grooms, Caleb Messer and Abel Messer.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont and other times at the home, 4842 Pleasant Hope Road in Fairmont.
