Jose Luis Maldonado, age 50, of Hope Mills, NC died on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. He was born in Puerto Rico on April 5, 1960 to Raul and Maria M. Colon Maldonado. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Maldonado is survived by his parents; his wife, Zulma Maldonado of the home; one son, Julian Luis Maldonado of the home; three daughters, Jessica J. Maldonado, Erica Maldonado and Nichole Malonado all of the home; four brothers; Raul Maldonado of Levinworth, KS, Edwin Maldonado of Miami, FL, Isneal Maldonado of Levinworth, KS and Rex Maldonado of Hope Mills, NC; and two sisters, Miriam E. Maldonado of Fayetteville, NC and Maritza Maldonado of Parkton, NC.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 4:00 PM at Sandy Grove AME Church with Rev. Ronald Thomas officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 3:00-4:00 PM at the church.
