Mrs. Joicie Mae Hunt of Fairmont, was born to the late Golden (Bell) Oxendine and Roberta Hunt Oxendine on May 7, 1941, in Robeson County and went to her eternal home Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Glenflora with her family by her side, completing her journey of 84 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James A.V. Hunt.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her son Antonio Hunt of Fairmont; her sister, Linder Groves (Rev. Jerry) of Fayetteville;  her brother Benny Oxendine (Wanda) of Lumberton; and grandchildren Victoria (husband Venus), Nicholas (wife Lauren), and Stacy; six great-grandchildren, James, Jasmine, Janiyah, Arianna, Logan, and Ayla; her special niece, Kelly, whom she loved like a daughter, and her great-niece, Brittany, other nieces and nephews, Rhonda, Sabrina, Jerome, and Travis, along with a host of other cherished relatives and friends."

"She faithfully served her church for many years, singing in the choir, teaching, and working in the Children's Department, where her dedication touched the lives of many."

A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 2:00-3:00PM at Reedy Branch Baptist Church, 3047 East McDonald Road, Fairmont. Funeral services will immediately follow in the church at 3:00PM.

Burial will also follow in the church cemetery.
