Johnny Ray Salmon, age 77, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Yanceyville Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Yanceyville, NC.  Johnny was born on a cold snowy night in Robeson County on January 23, 1948 to the late George Salmon and Daphine Long Salmon.

In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his sister, Alma Gray Williams, and brother-in-law, Walter Williams.

Notably, Johnny was part of the team that helped on 9/11 in NYC to get communications in place.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 23 years, Angela Kofler Salmon; son, Johnny Ray Salmon, Jr. (Lucelina "Luce"); daughter, Debora Tillman (Dale); son, Michael Shane Salmon (Kimberly); daughter, Katherine; brother, Harold Dean Salmon (Sue Oliver); and 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory, 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at New Hollywood Cemetery, located on Hollywood Drive in Lumberton, NC.
