Johnny Maurice Edwards, 83, of Barnesville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

He was born in Columbus County, NC on July 24, 1942, to the late Johnnie "Sinker" Edwards and Lummie Mae Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Edwards.

Mr. Edwards was a second-generation tobacco farmer and master auto mechanic. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He was a committed Christian with strong faith and was a lifelong member of Barnesville Baptist Church.

Mr. Edwards is survived by his daughter, Johnnie Lou Butler of Bladenboro, NC; stepsons, Brandon Danford (Jennifer) of Panama City, Fl and Johnny Danford (Vanessa) of Laurinburg, NC; many loving grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of services, a private celebration of life and spreading of ashes will be held by the family.
