Johnnie William Newton, of Norfolk, VA, born March 3, 1947, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021, at the North Carolina State Veteran's Nursing home in Fayetteville, NC. He was a veteran, former Lumberton police officer, and most recently a night auditor.

Preceding him in death, he cared for his mother, Betty Baxley Newton, and his father, John Everett Newton. Also, his brother, Larry Newton and sister, Deborah Carter Davenport.

Mr. Newton is survived by his daughter, Tracy Newton and her husband Jason Campbell, and his three grandchildren: Vance Campbell, Vivienne Campbell, and Violet Campbell. He is additionally survived by his brother, Jim Newton and wife Janet, and two sisters, Karen Britt and Beth Kinlaw.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 2:00 PM at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
