Before his health declined, Mr. Jacobs was a member of Reedy Branch Baptist Church in Fairmont, NC. In his free time, Johnnie loved fishing, playing the guitar, working in his garden, and restoring old vehicles. Johnnie worked for the Public Schools of Robeson County at Green Grove Elementary School and later worked with Fleetwood Mobile Homes, Inc. where he retired.
Johnnie played the guitar with the Sampson Brothers and Locklear Brothers gospel groups. In his younger years, Johnnie played the guitar with a bluegrass band.
Johnnie was a kind, fun, and loving man. If you knew him, you loved him. He had an infectious smile and his family was his world. He was an amazing father, brother, brother-in-law, cousin, uncle, grandpa, and so much more. He loved spending time with his family and friends. There is a hole left in our hearts. Our dad was the glue to our family. His memories will be cherished until we see him again.
