John Charles Scott, age 74, of Goldsboro, NC, previously of Robeson County, NC died on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, NC. He was born April 22, 1936, attended Barnesville High School and a member of of Bethesda Methodist Church. He served in the United States Army. He was married to Margie D. Scott.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rembert and Hannah Herring Scott and a brother, Carl Scott.

Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Margie D. Scott; three sons, Tony Scott and wife Sarah of Loris, SC, Randy Scott and wife Mary of Clemmons, NC, Michael Alan Scott and wife Denise of Colleyville, TN; one daughter, Donna Scott Collins of Lumberton, NC; four stepchildren, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild; a brother, Layton Scott of Lumberton, NC and a sister, Gladys Scott Ivey of Fairmont, NC.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Mike Pittman officiating. A time of visitation will follow the service.
