John Thomas McBryde, "Poor Old Tom", age 70, of Shallotte, NC, died on Friday, April 5, 2019, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.  He was born in Hoke County, NC on March 24, 1949 to the late Walter Graham and Penia Nichols McBryde. He was a veteran of the United States Army and previously worked as a maintenance electrician at Kelly Springfield/Goodyear.

Mr. McBryde is survived by his wife, Sandra Smith McBryde of the home; son, Zack McBryde (Crystal) of Lumberton; daughter, Chasity McRimmon (Bragg) of Newnan, GA; brother, Walter Graham McBryde II (Gilda) of Longs, SC; sister, Lillian Michael of Lumberton; grandchildren, Kaylee and Logan McBryde; special niece, Pam Cummings of Lumberton; and his special girls, Tootie and Cookie.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2019, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5 ^th Street in Lumberton.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019, at 3:oo PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tony Stevens officiating.  Burial will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens in Lumberton.
