John Bruce "J.B." Lanier, age 76, of Lumberton, NC, transitioned from his earthly home to his Heavenly Home on Saturday, July 30, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born in Lumberton, North Carolina on November 27, 1945 to the late Benjamin and Christine Lanier.
He leaves to cherish his memories with his wife, Sue Russ Lanier; his son, John Anthony Lanier and wife Paula; his grandson, John Tilman ("J.T.") and wife Leah; a brother, Wayne Lanier and wife Nanette; an aunt, Faye Johnson and husband Hoarce; and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly.
JB worked the North Carolina Department of Transportation for 32 years. He enjoyed fishing and was known for his kind heart, sense of humor, blue eyes, and love for his family.
The family will be receiving friends at 1891 Russ Road in Lumberton.
A time of visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.
