Mr. John Kenneth Newberry, age 76, of Orrum, NC, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021, at UNC Health-Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. He was born on June 29, 1944 in Washington, D.C. to the late Lee Cromwell and Marie Newberry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and also formerly employed as a commercial air conditioner repairman.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Neil Newberry; three brothers: Doug Newberry, Arthur Newberry, and Lee Newberry, Jr.; and a sister, Elner Lynch.

He is survived by his wife, Patty Newberry of the home; five sons: John Kevin Newberry and wife Sherri of Lumberton, NC, Jonathan Lee Newberry and wife Kristin of Lumberton, NC, Bobby Joe Newberry and fiancée Tiffany Tyner of Lumberton, NC, Timmy Mishue and wife Rose of Orrum, NC, and Wayne Mishue and wife Tammy of Orrum, NC; two daughters, Sherry Anne Newberry and Penny Sue McCartney and husband Jake, all of Lumberton, NC; numerous grandchildren and even more great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Newberry and wife Joanne of Charleston, SC and Carson Newberry and wife Peggy of Columbia, SC; and a sister-in-law, Doris Newberry.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2021, at 3:00 PM at Floyd Memory Gardens in Lumberton, NC with Rev. George Connor officiating.
