Mr. John Russell Hunt, 61, 0f Lumberton, NC, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021. He was born in Robeson County, NC, on December 7, 1959, to the late Myrtle H. Oxendine. He really enjoyed landscaping and working in the yard.

Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Hardin.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy C. Hunt of the home; a son, Johnathan Hunt (Jessica) of Pembroke, NC; two sisters, Peggy Strickland (Earl) and Kay Neal Locklear, all of Lumberton, NC; a granddaughter, Mesha Hunt; special niece and nephew, Tonya Hunt and Lee Marvin Hunt; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Robeson Memorial Park in Lumberton, NC with Pastor Lee Marvin Hunt officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the graveside.
