Rev. John Charles Howell, Sr., age 65, of Lumberton, died on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. He was born in Robeson County, on June 6, 1946 to the late Ford and Flora Mae Howell.

He was called out of his career at Boise Cascade into the Ministry in 1989. He served faithfully as a Pastor for 23 years. He served the Oakton Baptist Church, Saddletree Baptist Church, Forest Hll Baptist Church in VA and Long Branch Baptist Church.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son.

Rev. Howell is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Myra; two sons, Johnny and wife, Tonya and Jeffrey and wife, Brittany; a daughter, Allyson Perritt and husband, Aubrey; two brothers, Buddy and wife Marilyn and Harold and wife Emily; three sisters, Sara Lovett and husband Franklin and Deborah Sealey and husband Kenneth all of Lumberton and Jane Norris and husband Lee of IL; and four grandsons, C.J., Adam, Austin and Pierce.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 3:30 PM at Ten Mile Baptist Church with Rev. Frankie Bass officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:30-3:30 at Ten Mile Baptist Church.
