J.D. Barefoot went to be with his Lord on April 24, 2011. He was a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church where he served for many years as a Deacon, Chairman of Deacons and taught Sunday School. He was also a member of the choir.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years, Florine G. Barefoot; his daughter, Elonda Barefoot Brown of Charlotte, NC; his granddaughter, Shea Brown Deal of Abbeville, SC, and two great-grandchildren, Taylor Brooke Deal and Cameron Isaac Deal, also of Abbeville and nine special nieces and nephews.

He was owner and operator of Barefoot Barber Shop in St. Pauls, NC for 50 years where he made many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harrison C. Barefoot and his mother, Gertrude Cashwell Barefoot, and his sister, Evelyn B. Inman.

Family night will be Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton.

Services will be Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 11:00AM at Ten Mile Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
