Mrs. Joe Ann Britt York, age 71, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County, NC on May 9, 1949 to the late Hinyard Britt and the late Agatha Britt. She was employed with the Department of Social Services, ultimately retiring as Supervisor.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald K. Britt and David Britt, and a sister, Betty Lou Britt Crisco.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Donald York of the home; two brothers, Albert Britt of Lumberton, NC and Wilton Britt of Greensboro, NC; and two sisters, Fran Atkinson of Greensboro, NC and Alma Stanton of Lumberton, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC with Rev. Gary Strickland and Rev. Roy Rogers officiating.
