Joe Anderson Truslow, age 87, of Lumberton, NC died on Monday, July 18, 2011 at Wesley Pines Retirement Community in Lumberton. He was born in Rockingham County, NC on October 11, 1923 to Grover and Sadie Anderson Truslow. He worked as a banker for Southern National Bank.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Sadie Anderson Truslow; a son George Truslow; three brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Truslow is survived by his wife, Virginia Byrum Truslow of the home; a son, Grover C. Truslow and wife Adele of Hillsboro, NC; a daughter, Ginny T. Kennerly and husband Ben of Winter Park, FL; a brother, Dr. Roy Truslow of Reidsville, NC; three grandchildren, Amanda T. Hopkins and husband Anthony, Jennifer A. Freeman and Christopher R. Freeman and two great-grandchildren, Alexis Hopkins and Logan Hopkins.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Lumberton with Dr. Ralph Richardson and Dr. David Elks officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 6:30-8:30 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
