Mr. Joe Ecil Griffin, Jr., age 82, formerly of Fairmont, NC passed away on Thursday morning, November 24, 2022 on Thanksgiving Day at Pee Dee Assisted Living in Florence, SC. Joe was born on November 24, 1940 in Robeson County.

He worked as a school teacher, insurance salesman, and farmer. He attended Campbell University after high school and graduated from college from North Carolina State University. He was a loyal, committed father, and a loving grandfather to three grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Ecil Griffin, Sr. and Hilda Stuart Griffin; his wife, Linda Carol Bibey; his two sons, William Dalton Griffin and Robert Lee "Bobby" Griffin; and his grand-daughter, Hanna Elizabeth Markham.

Joe is survived by his two daughters, Jackie Elizabeth Griffin of Florence, SC and Carrie Melissa Griffin of Lumberton, NC; two grandchildren, Carolinda Melissa Rodriguez and Rafael "RJ" Rodriguez, Jr.; a brother, John Griffin and his wife Linda; and a sister, Carol Hansen and her husband Buster.

A graveside service will be held Monday, November, 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Inman-Griffin Family Cemetery, 584 Jonesville Rd. Fairmont, NC and other times at the home of Melissa Griffin.
