Joan Hornbuckle's Obituary
Joan Carol Ward Hornbuckle, age 61, of Lumberton, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. She was born December 24, 1956 in Robeson County to Don Leo Ward, Sr. and the late Virginia Ernestine Stallings Ward. She will be remembered for her years as a social worker for the Robeson County Department of Social Services.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
She is survived by her father; her husband, Freddie T. Hornbuckle of the home; her daughter, Virginia "Gini" Hornbuckle Dalton and husband Tod of Greensboro; two grandchildren: James Dalton and Ada Dalton; a brother, Don Leo Ward, Jr. of Holden Beach; and a sister, Lynn Rice of Lumberton.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 11, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Floyd Memorial
Chapel with Bishop Bruce Brumfield and Rev. Lewis F. Hatchell officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
