James "Jimmy" Luther McKellar, Sr., 73, formerly of Red Springs, NC, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 17, 1947 in Red Springs, NC to the late James and Elsie McKellar.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, David William McKellar.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Sue McKellar of the home; three sons: James Luther McKellar, Jr. (Stefanie) of Lumberton, NC, Bradley Evan McKellar (Catherine) of Kennesaw, GA, and Ethan Brock McKellar of Cornelius, NC; three grandchildren: Jase McKellar, Jenna McKellar, and Aidan McKellar;  a brother, Mark Steven McKellar (Melanie);  a sister, Susan McKellar Dellay (Michael);  his father-in-law and mother-in-law, J. Ronald and Betty Hester of Bladenboro, NC; a sister-in-law, Ronda Dezso (Allen) of Wallace, NC; and a brother-in-law, Alan Hester (Donna) of Lumberton, NC.

Jimmy enjoyed photography and bird watching and he was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves and the UNC Tarheels.

A time of visitation will take place prior to the service on Saturday, August 21, 2021, from 1:00-2:30 PM at Red Springs Presbyterian Church, 115 N. Vance Street in Red Springs, NC. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM following the visitation.
