Jimmy Alex Leggett, 75, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. He was born April 16, 1941 in Robeson County to the late Alex & Etta Leggett. He retired from the Employment Security Commission. He was also a member of Christian and Missionary Alliance Church for 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jack Leggette; and one sister, Gail Leggett.

He is survived by his wife Elsie Odom Leggett of the home; his children: Greg Leggett and wife Julie of Lumberton and Elaine Leggett of Wilmington; two grandchildren: Brandon Leggett and Brittney Leggett; and two sisters: Linda Leggett of Laurinburg and Susan Stogner of Fayetteville.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017, at 3:00 PM at Meadowbrook Cemetery with Rev. Joe Bounds and Rev. David Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
