Jimmy Chavis, age 50, of Fairmont, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Robeson County on June 29, 1960.

Mr. Chavis is survived by a daughter, Keonia Oxendine of Fairmont, NC; six brothers, Laure Chavis of Lumberton, NC, Tommy Chavis of Smithfield, NC, Nelson Chavis of Fairmont, NC, Danny Chavis of Lumberton, NC, Clyde Chavis of Lumberton, NC and Casey Chavis of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Margaret Dowless and Letha Chavis, both of Lumberton, NC and a special friend, Bonnie Faye Hunt.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 3:00PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Preacher Ronald Cummings officiating. Burial will follow at Robeson Memorial Park in Lumberton.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton and other times at 179 Buck Trail, Lumberton, NC.
