Mr. Jimmie Charles Lawson, age 77, of Lumberton, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. He was born in Robeson County on May 25, 1937 to the late Bracey Lawson and the late Mavis Walton Lawson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Lawson and two sisters, Judy Ivey and Sherry Lawson. Mr. Lawson is survived by his wife, Magnolia Lawson, of the home; a son, Robert Lawson (Sharon) of Lumberton; two daughters, Sandra Prevatt (Berry) and Rhonda Lawson, all of Whiteville; three brothers, Jerry Lawson, Tony Lawson and Lindsey Lawson, all of Lumberton; four sisters, Gloria Huggins, Glenda Hinson and Sue Callahan, all of Lumberton and Beth Brown of Winston-Salem and one grandson, Elliott Prevatt. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 from 6:00-8:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 2:00PM at Long Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Broadwell officiating. Burial will follow at Broadridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
