Mr. Jessie Ray Walters, age 78, of Fairmont, passed away on April 29, 2017 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. He was born March 25, 1939 in Robeson County to the late J. C. Walters and the late Fronia Davis Walters. He was a valued textile technician for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Julia Cox and a grandson, Keith "Toby" Walters.

Mr. Walters is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Mrs. Edna H. Walters; three sons, Wendell "Wendy" Walters (Tonya) of Wadesboro, NC, Anthony "Tenny" Walters (Chrystal) of Tarboro, NC and Royce Walters (Hope) of Fairmont; one daughter, Anita "Punk" Simmons (Tony) of Wadesboro, NC; two brothers, Johnny Walters of Orrum, NC and Darrel Walters (Betty) of Waco, TX; one sister, Sue Walters of Wadesboro, NC; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 6:00-7:00PM at Floyd Funeral Services, Inc., in Fairmont.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont.
