Mr. Jessie Craig Hayes, Jr., 82, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026 at home.

He was born in Dillon County, SC on August 8, 1943 to the late Jessie C. Hayes, Sr. and the late Beulah Ivey Hayes.  Mr. Hayes was also preceded in death by his sister.

"Craig" was a US Army Veteran who worked at the Robeson County Detention Center where he retired in 2002.  He is survived by his wife, Cathy Britt Hayes, of the home.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 1:00-2:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.  A funeral service will follow the visitation on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 2:00PM with Pastor Jeff Blackburn officiating.
