Jessie Lou Britt, age 79, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025 surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 25, 1946 in Robeson County. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Leola Britt, brother; James Lynn Britt, son; Gene Patrick Phillips, Sr, and grandson; Michael Todd Phillips.

Jessie will be remembered as a woman who loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her friends. She enjoyed sewing especially quilting. She spent many hours scrapbooking. Jessie was an excellent cook and prepared many wonderful meals for friends and family. Jessie was a lady of adventure.

She is survived by her grandchildren; Gene Patrick Phillips, Jr and wife Patricia, Tiffanie Phillips, Jessica Phillips and fiancée, Taylor Jones, great-grandchildren; Joseph Phillips, Madison Phillips, Lily Phillips, Noah Hall, Elizabeth Hall, Noen Atkinson, Maverick Atkinson, Jacob Jones, sister-in-law; Sheila Britt, nephews; Michael Britt, Ray Britt and wife Betty, niece, Dorcas Bridgeman and husband Mark and a special friend; Elizabeth Ann Rushing.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at New Hollywood Cemetery, 401 Hollywood Dr, Lumberton, NC 28358 with Rev. John Bisson officiating.
