Jerry Braxton Smith, 77, of Lumberton, died on Saturday July 3, 2021, at his home.

Jerry is preceded in death by his father and mother, Willie and Lela Smith; a son, Jeffery Carroll Smith; three brothers, Billy Smith and his wife Betty, Leroy Smith and his wife Nancy, and Milton Smith; and a sister, Melba Broadaway and her husband Joe.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Smith; a son, Joey Smith and his wife Stephanie of Lumberton; a daughter, Amy Clewis and her husband David of Lumberton; a brother, Wallace Smith and his wife Nancy of Lumberton; a sister, Helen Wilkins and her husband David of Lumberton; five grandchildren, Zach Smith, Ethan Clewis, Riley Clewis, Jordan Smith and Garret Smith; a sister-in-law, Janie Smith; and a whole host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2021, at Abe Branch Holiness Church. The visitation will be prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Meadowbook Cemetery in Lumberton.
