Jerry Russ, 51, of Lumberton, NC died on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC. He was born on May 9, 1958 to Woodrow and Mary Wilson Russ. He worked at Southeastern Regional Medical Center as a security officer. Mr. Russ was an active member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Director of Jam Puppet Team. He also was a member of East Howellsville Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Dianne Cox Russ of the home; two sons, Jerry Russ, Jr and wife Kim and Terry Russ of Lumberton; six brothers, Cecil Russ and wife Betty of Bloomingdale, IL, Thomas Russ and William Russ of Lumberton, Harold Russ and wife Joyce of Riverview, FL, Donald Russ and wife Becky and Danny Russ and wife Shirley all of Lumberton; three sisters, Evelyn Lockamy and husband Elwood of Erwin, NC, Edna Haywood of Lumberton, NC and Mary Elizabeth Cropsey and husband Dennis of Elgin, IL; and four grandchildren, Kathryn, Shawn, Anna and Nadia.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Cedar Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Elmore Strickland and Rev. Charles Brust officiating. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens in Lumberton.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, July 18, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
