Mr. Jerry Jerome Oxendine, Sr., (A.K.A. "Bear" by his sister Jeannette and "Chief" by his friends) age 62, of Lumberton, NC was born April 2, 1958 in Robeson County, NC to the late Clyde and Queen Esther Hunt Oxendine. He departed this life on Monday, November 9, 2020, at his home.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ms. Callie Jane Hunt; his paternal grandparents, Savage and Lucy Ransom Oxendine; two sisters, Marilyn Oxendine Scott and Glenda Ruth Oxendine Foeller; and three brothers: Anthony Wayne Oxendine, Kenneth Oxendine, and Lloyd Ray Oxendine.

Jerry served in the United States Marine Corps and was employed as a car salesman before his declining health.

Jerry leaves to cherish his memories one son, Jerry J. Oxendine, Jr. of Lumberton, NC, and one daughter, Brittany Oxendine of Lumberton; two grandchildren, Brianna Townsend and Jayden Townsend; five sisters: Helen H. Cook of Fayetteville, NC, Geraldine Oxendine of Fairmont, NC, Linda O. Maynor (Timmy) of Rowland, NC, Lucille O. Burgess of Fairmont, NC, and Jeanette O. Ramirez (Victor) of Pembroke, NC; two brothers, Ricky Oxendine of New York and Melvin Gerald Jacobs of Myrtle Beach, SC; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, November 13, 2020, from 12 noon until 2:00PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont.

Graveside services will follow the visitation, Friday, November 13, 2020, at 2:30PM at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery in Fairmont.

Family will receive friends at the home of his sister Geraldine Oxendine of Fairmont.
