Mr. Jerry Wayne Chavis, age 59, of 91 Robeson Pines Rd., Fairmont, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. Funeral services will be Friday, October 4, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Reedy Branch Church with Revs. Hilton Woodell and Brian Locklear officiating. Burial will be in Reedy Branch Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, October 3rd 2013 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. He was born December 29, 1953 in Robeson County to the late Sam and Audia Hunt Chavis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wilson Chavis; a sister, Annie Lee Chavis. He is survived by a son, Brian Keith Locklear and wife Keri of Maxton; one brother, Willard Chavis and wife Mary of Shannon; five sisters, Marvie Sampson and husband Edward of Trinity, Lou Anner Chavis of High Point, Deloris Mangum of Pembroke, Sharma Carter and husband Luther, and Regina Hardin and husband Jerry all of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Isaiah and Ikiah Locklear; a special friend, Kay Lowery.
