Mr. Jerry Channing Barnes, age 82, of Tar Heel, NC entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 29, 2024. He was born July 19, 1941 to the late Lewis Barnes and late Helen Barnes of Tar Heel, NC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Channing Barnes Jr.

He is survived by his wife of thirty–two years, Cathy Kinard Barnes, of the home; his daughter, Mary Beth Felty of Hernando Mississippi; his stepdaughter, Angel Jones of Tarheel, NC; his siblings, Carolyn Johnson of Charlotte, NC, Glenda Johnson (Richard) of Tar Heel, NC, and Ray Barnes of Tar Heel, NC; his granddaughter, Hannah; four grandsons: Tony, Ryan, Robert, and Brandon; and six great-grandchildren.

Homegoing Celebration: Friday, July 5, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at New Life Church, 3990 Fayetteville Rd., Lumberton, NC 28358

In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations in remembrance of Jerry Barnes be made to the Angel House Hospice Care Center, 206 Warrior Trail Rd., Whiteville, NC 28472
