Jerolyn Hedgepeth Smith, age 81, of Lumberton, NC died on Monday, November 6, 2017 at GlenFlora in Lumberton.  She was born in Robeson County, NC on December 25, 1935 to the late Joseph Bennett and Mary Grace Currie Hedgepeth. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Douglas Elwood Smith; a brother, William Eugene Hedgepeth; sisters, Dorothy Blackstock and Shelby Odum; and one grandchild, Chip Anderson.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons, James Douglas "Butch" Smith (Connie) of Tampa, FL and Paul D. Stephens of Lumberton; a daughter, Lynda Smith Cavanaugh (David) of Lumberton; brother, Herbert Hedgepeth of Lumberton; five grandchildren, Amber Smith, Cody Smith, Jaykob Stephens, Kaelyn Stephens, Kyndal Stephens; and one great-grandchild, Kameron Anderson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.

The funeral service will be on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Johnny Bruce officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.
