Jeffie Thomas "J.T." Phillips, Jr., age 80, of Fairmont, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born on December 19, 1938, in Robeson County to the late Jeffie Thomas Phillips, Sr. and the late Susan "Sudie" Davis Phillips. He was formerly employed with Doug's Electric Company as an electrician.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, David Duncan and Wilton Phillips, and two sisters, Julia Pittman and Velma Helgren.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Phillips of the home; one son, Jeffrey Benton and wife Emily of Wilmington; three daughters: Pamela Dailey and husband James of West Palm Beach, FL, Connie Bryant of Lumberton, and Jennifer Taylor of the home; and seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and the beloved family dog, Tinker Bell.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memory Gardens in Lumberton with Rev. David Anderson officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the graveside.
