Jeanette S.
Evans
Oct 15, 1956 — Aug 9, 2022
Fairmont
Mrs. Jeanette S. Evans, age 65, of Fairmont, NC passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022, in Morehead City, NC.
She was born on the U.S. Air Force Base in Chateauroux, France on October 15, 1956.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Smalley and Pauline Steins Smalley.
Jeanette was the office manager for her husband's dental practice and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she helped in many capacities. She loved spending time with her family and was instrumental in helping bring travel sports to Robeson County during their upbringing. An avid shopper and somewhat of a perfectionist, she could do almost anything cruising around in her high heels. She was a 22-year esophageal cancer survivor and her fighting spirit and fervor for life was evident in everything she did. Jeanette was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she met and fell in love with her husband. She enjoyed watching all Tar Heel athletics along with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Samuel Evans, Jr. of Fairmont, NC; two sons, Brad Evans of Charlotte, NC and Matt Evans of Raleigh, NC; one daughter, Dr. Anna Evans Keene (Chris) of Apex, NC; one brother, Gary Smalley (Lorena) of Calabasas, CA; one sister, Paulette Pauley (Jim) of Chapel Hill, NC; three grandchildren: Connor, Skylar, and Levi Keene, all of Apex, NC; and other family members and friends.
