Mr. John Charles "J.C." Strickland, age 88, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Woodhaven Nursing Facility. He was born in Columbus County, NC on September 16, 1932 to the late Charlie Strickland and the late Alice Jenkins Strickland.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Lane Strickland, three brothers: Boyd Strickland, Dennis Strickland, and Donnie Faye Strickland; three sisters: Pauline Strickland, Irene Brown, and Eula Dudney; and a son-in-law, Stephen Kelly Jernigan.

He is survived by two sons, Charles Lynn Strickland and fiancée Jan Cox and Richard Keith Strickland and wife Paula, all of Lumberton, NC; two daughters, Joye Marie Jernigan of Bladenboro, NC and Rhonda Kay Wilkins and husband Kenneth of Inman, SC; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Lewis of Whiteville, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
