Janie Louise Davis Lovett, age 72, of Lumberton, NC died on Monday, May 23, 2016 at her home.  She was born in Robeson County, NC on January 6, 1944 to the late Dewey and Susan Britt Davis, Sr.  She previously worked in textiles as a sewing machine operator.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and one brother.

Mrs. Lovett is survived by her husband, William Clyde Lovett, Sr. of the home;  sons, James Wilkerson, and William Clyde Lovett, Jr. of Lumberton; daughters, Connie Lawson of Lumberton and Jennifer Danford (Brandon) of Panama City, FL; brother, Dewey Davis, Jr. of Proctorville; sisters, Ruth Britt and Hazel Britt both of Lumberton;; six grandchildren, Danielle, Brandon, Rene, Brandi, Zachary, and Monica; five great-grandchildren; and special family friend, Tammy Thompson of Lumberton.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 7:00 PM at the Long Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Brett Young officiating.  A time of visitation with the family will be held prior to the service from 5:00-6:30 PM at the church fellowship hall.

Burial will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 10:00 AM at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton.

In lieu of flowers memorials are encouraged to be made to Long Branch Baptist Church, 8878 NC Hwy 72 E, Lumberton, NC 28358.
