Janice Taylor Stone, age 91, of Lumberton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, March 23, 2025.  She was born in Robeson County, NC on August 10, 1933 to the late Jessie Taylor and the late Sidney Phillips Taylor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Allen "W.A." Stone, Jr.; three sons, Phillip Stone, Stuart Stone and Gerald Stone; two brothers, Hilburn Taylor and Gene Taylor; and four sisters, Elaine West, Evelyn Collins, Elizabeth Davis and Bobbie Davis.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Culbreth (Danny) of Lumberton and Penny Hoover (Patrick) of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Amanda Oxendine (Jessie), Lauren Fields (Billy), T.J. Carter and Erica Thomas; six great-grandchildren, Austin (Lindsey), Abbie (Cole), Jessa, Kayleigh, Kennedy and Gray and five great-great grandchildren, Will, Cassidee, Audrey, Hilda Kate and Kamry.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 6:30-8:30PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 2:00PM at Long Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Cole Dellinger and Pastor Brett Young officiating.  Burial will follow at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton.
