Janice Hunt Sherrod, age 72, of Lexington, NC, formerly, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Grayson Creek Assisted Living Facility in Lexington, NC.  She was born in Robeson County, NC on March 13, 1949 to the late James Marvin Hunt and the late Elyse Patrick Hunt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: James Hunt, Earl Hunt, and Curtis Hunt, and two sisters, Shirley Kimball and Doris Hunt.

Janice is survived by one son, Jeffrey Scott Sherrod of Thomasville, NC; two daughters, Tammy T. Delawder (Jeff) of Lexington, NC and Amanda C. Lewis (Joseph) of Lumberton, NC; two brothers, Glenn Hunt (Ruth) of Lumberton, NC and Michael Hunt of New York; nine grandchildren: Danielle Doss, Jeffrey A. Delawder, Jr., Travis Sherrod, Dakota Sherrod, Frank Sherrod, Enrico Leones, Billy Lewis, Heather Lewis, and Joey Lewis; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 1:00-2:00PM at The Rock Church of God, 2209 W. Carthage Road in Lumberton, NC.  Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00PM.  Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
