James William Britt, age 87, of Lumberton, NC passed away at home on Friday, July 12, 2024. He was born in Robeson County on June 26, 1937 to the late William Montgomery Britt and Laura Sasser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ellen Britt and one son, Harold Lewis Britt.

Mr. Britt is survived by two sons, Knox "KW" Britt (Sandra) and James Ray Britt (Bonnie); one daughter, Mary Ellen McLean (David, Jr.); and one sister, Carlene Stead, all of Lumberton; and 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory Inc., 809 E. 5th Street, Lumberton, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM at East Lumberton Church of God, 100 Dresden Ave. in Lumberton, NC. Burial will be at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
