Mr. James Robert "Sonny" Sanderson, Sr. age 72, of 1271 Horne Camp Rd. Fairmont, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 at home. Funeral services will be Monday, June 10, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at Ashpole Center United Methodist Church on South Robeson Rd. Rowland, with Revs. Harold Hunt, George Locklear and Bill James Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in Ashpole Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, June 9, 2013 from 6-8 P.M. at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. Mr. Sanderson was born February 11, 1941 in Robeson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Maggie Sanderson; brothers, Lankford and Gary Sanderson; and a sister, Arbriadella S. Hunt. He is survived by his wife, Frances Mitchell Sanderson of the home; one son, James R. Sanderson, Jr. of Charlotte; one daughter, Heather Sanderson of San Carlos, CA.; two brothers, Edward Sanderson of Fayetteville and Montford Sanderson of Charlotte; and adopted with love, a son Roger Caulder, and two grandchildren Aaryn and Holly Scott.
