James Edward Rice, Sr., age 57, of Lumberton, NC, entered his heavenly home on November 4, 2025. He was born in Robeson County, NC on June 8, 1968 to James and Faye Rice.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife, Susan Rice, of the home; children, Jamie Rice and Constance Rice; brothers-in-law, Brent Freeman and Chad Maxwell (Ashley); sister-in-law, Ginny Stallings; father-in-law, Chuck Maxwell (Sheila); nieces and nephews: Ashley, Brianna, Hannah, Cody, Hunter, Chloe, Peaton, and his squirt, Jaide; as well as several cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family members.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.  The family will also receive friends at the home.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 1:00PM at Taylor Family Cemetery on Beulah Church Road in Lumberton.
