Mr. James Patrick Prevatte, Sr., age 63, of Laurinburg, NC passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, NC. He was born July 16, 1960 in Robeson County, NC.

Mr. Prevatte graduated from Augusta Military Academy, and also attended Western Carolina University. He was employed by Lowe's for 15 years.

Mr. Prevatte was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Joyce Britt Prevatte; his paternal grandparents, Hubert Prevatte and Mary Elizabeth (Ed) Andrews; his maternal grandparents, John Paul Britt and Eddie Queen Parnell Britt.

He is survived by his two children, James Patrick Prevatte, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, and Amanda Prevatte of Alden, PA; his father, James Wade Prevatte  and wife Delores, of Fairmont, NC; two sisters, Sheila Miller of Sneads Ferry, NC, and Melissa Beja of Cary, NC; his nieces and nephews, Brittany, Jamison, Matthew, and Emily; a special cousin, Betsy Gasque.

A time of visitation will be held Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Floyd Funeral Services 1549 Marion Stage Rd. Fairmont, NC. Funeral services will immediately follow in the chapel at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery, 400 West 24th St. Lumberton, NC.
