James Andrew Pope, age 41, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Whiteville. He was born in Robeson County on February 11, 1973. He was formerly employed as a chief operating officer with Wayne Bailey, Inc. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sam and Marybelle McKnight. He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Causey Pope of the home, one son, Porter Pope of the home, one daughter, McKnight Pope of the home, a special nephew, Zachary Pope of Ft. Bragg, his parents, Dennis and Peggy McKnight Pope of Bladenboro, and one brother, Michael Pope of North Myrtle Beach, SC. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at 3:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Ruth officiating. Family will receive friends following the service in the First Presbyterian Church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pope's Children College Fund at State Employees' Credit Union, 4840 Fayetteville Road, Lumberton, NC 28358.
