James "Polecat" Wilbur Polston, Jr., age 57, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023. He was born in Bladen County, NC on August 4, 1966 to the late James W. Polston, Sr. and the late Betty Watts Polston. He was a truck driver for over 30 years. In his spare time, he loved to ride his motorcycle and spend time outdoors.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Ann Pait.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Renee Polston of the home; his children, Dustin (Liz) Polston of Lumberton, NC and Shannon Mayers and husband Johnathan of Fairmont, NC; his grandson, Gavin Drew Mayers; his sister, Tabitha Lynn Polston of Yadkinville, NC; his mother-in-law, Sue Callahan of Lumberton, NC; his sisters-in-law, Sherry Callahan and Terri Lynn Callahan, both of Lumberton, NC; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Sandhill Baptist Church, 2726 Pope's Crossing Road in Lumberton, NC, with Rev. Johnny Bruce officiating. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
