Mr. James Roy Phillips, age 70, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Wednesday evening, January 6, 2021. Roy was born in Lumberton, NC on October 9, 1950 to the late Letha Mae Phillips. He worked for the Public Schools of Robeson Coounty in the Heating & Electrical Dept. for nearly 20 years.

Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Marilyn Rowland Phillips of the home; his son, James Ryan "J.R." Phillips of Lumberton, NC; two very special granddaughters whome he truly adored, Caitlyn Marie Phillips of Raleigh, NC and Lilianna Grace Phillips of Lumberton, NC; a brother, E.J. Phillips and wife Judy and family of Evergreen, NC; along with many other extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday, January 14, 2021, from 6:00-7:00 PM at West Lumberton Baptist Church. Following the visitation, a memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM, also at the church.
