James Gordon Oxendine, Jr., 83, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. He was born June 15, 1933 in Robeson County to the late James Gordon Oxendine, Sr. and the late Lea Girty Oxendine. He was formerly employed as a concrete finisher with Lonnie Junior Concrete Co.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Danny W. Oxendine, Rosser Oxendine, Grady C. Oxendine, Billy Oxendine, and Robert Lee Oxendine; and two sisters: Aretha Tyner and Alene Locklear.

He is survived by one sister, Betty Oxendine Locklear of Pembroke; two grandchildren: Shea E. Newton and Kristen K. Cole; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will take place on Sunday, February 12, 2017, from 2:00-3:00 PM at Evergreen Holiness Church in Pembroke.

Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM with Rev. Kip Woods, Rev. James Deese, and Rev. Dwight Dale officiating. Burial will follow at Oxendine Family Cemetery on Oak Grove Church Road in Pembroke.
