James Maxwell ??Boe? Phillips, 61, of 816 Watauga Street, died Monday, July 28, 2008 at his residence.
He was born to the late Edgar and Lois Downing Phillips on October 21, 1946 in Robeson County.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Karen Phillips; 3 brothers, Edward Ray Phillips, Ronald
Phillips and Wayne Phillips.
He is survived by his companion of 17 years, Joyce Godwin of the home; his daughter, Michelle Phillips
Prevatte and husband, Charles of Lumberton; 4 brothers, Russell Phillips and wife, Vickie, Boyd Phillips
and wife, Frances, Glenn Phillips and wife, Linda all of Lumberton and Gary Phillips of LaGrange, NC; 2
sisters, Lorraine Watson and husband, Doug of Lumberton and Sue Katzenberger and husband, Jim of
Lumberton; 2 grandchildren, Summer Nicole Prevatte and Charles Prevatte, Jr.
The graveside service will be Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Family Cemetery with
Revs. Charles Hunt and Gary Phillips officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 29, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory,
Inc.
