James Donald Martin, age 84, of Lumberton, NC died on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.  He was born in Andrews, SC on June 28, 1933 to the late John James Martin and the late Martha L. Norton.  He was a veteran of the 82nd Airborne in the United States Army and the owner/operator of Martin's Auto Body Repair and Martin's Flea Market.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerome Martin and Harry Martin; and a sister, Jeannette Hester.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Bobbie Grice Martin of the home; sons, James Guy Martin (Julia) of Lumberton and Michael Donald Martin (Jerri-Lynn) of Lumberton; daughter, Theresa Martin Conner (David) of Lumberton; sisters, Mable Jackson of Lumberton, Gertrude Ellis of Fayetteville, Anniebelle Watkins of Cary, and Ruthalee Pritt; grandchildren, Kyle Martin, Chad Martin, Chris Conner (Lou), Benji Conner, Courtney Britt (Jason), Summer Martin, and Kristi Britt (Tre'); and five great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Robert Hester officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.
