Mr. James Marshall "JM" Rogers, age 84, of Fairmont, NC, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Rogers was born on November 19, 1941, in Robeson County to the late James Orell Rogers and the late Irene Andrews. A proud United States Army Veteran, JM was a man of faith, service, and generosity. He was a devoted member of Fairmont First Baptist Church, where he faithfully served alongside his church family for many years. He was also an active member of the Fairmont Masonic Lodge and was honored to serve as a Past Master. Throughout his life, he built countless lifelong friendships in the Fairmont community and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

JM found great joy in woodworking. He lovingly crafted hundreds of small wooden crosses and bluebird houses, sharing them generously with family, friends, and members of the community. His gifts reflected his kindness, craftsmanship, and desire to bless others.

He will also be remembered for his quick wit, playful spirit, and wonderful sense of humor. JM loved making people laugh, teasing those he loved, and finding joy in everyday moments. His warm smile, lighthearted nature, and ability to brighten any room left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Above all, JM treasured his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Maude Rogers; his daughters, Charity Quick and husband David Quick, and Bonnie West and husband Chris West; his three cherished granddaughters, Josie Quick, Lila Quick, and Emmy West, who lovingly knew him as "Poppy"; his sister, Millie Lee; and his niece, Glenda Lee. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and watching his granddaughters grow.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 5:00 until 6:00 PM at Fairmont First Baptist Church, 416 South Main Street, Fairmont. A memorial service will immediately follow at 6:00 PM at the church. Burial will be private.
